Field Operations Automation is achieved through the TracNet "On The Road" component. "On The Road" provides officers in the field with a tool to improves service to the community with critical
RMS information regarding People, Vehicles, Property and Locations and providing a means for minimizing the effort required for document activities in the field.

Field Operations Automation is achieved with TracNet's "On The Road" component. "On The Road" provides officers in the field with a tool to improves service to the community with critical RMS information regarding People, Vehicles, Property and Locations and providing a means for minimizing the effort required for documenting activities in the field. "On The Road" uses field computers with a mag-stripe reader able to "Swipe" a California Drivers License or ID Card and inquire on previous contacts or current local Wants, Warrants, and BOL's. Narratives can be completed using preformatted narrative templates. All information obtained in the field is "uploaded" into "For The Office" integrated relational database. All relevant data, help information, screen formats, and validation are carried "on board" in the laptop and not dependent upon a continuous communication link with the server.

OTR enables entry of:

• Parking Citations
• Field Interviews
• Suspicious Vehicles
• Crime Cases (and supplements)
• Incident Cases (Copied from CAD)

Inquiry
The Inquiry portion of the laptop component is augmented with drop-down pointer selectable validated inquiry field values, graphical navigation and semi-automatic inquiries from the
mag-stripe file.

The system enables the inquiry of:
• Alpha Information
• Vehicle Information
• Property Information
• Incident Information.

Printed Reports
Case reports can be printed directly from the laptop computer prior to downloading to the host computer. In addition, analysis reports and summary reports can be viewed or printed directly
from the laptop.
